Navy Picks Site for Military Housing Units
From Staff and Wire Reports
The Navy has recommended that 300 acres at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar be used for a 1,600-unit housing complex.
The site was chosen over two others on the base’s north side because it has more room for construction, according to an environmental impact statement. The project has been planned since 1998.
The recommendation drew fire from area homeowners.
