Old-Time Dodgers Don’t Get Hall Pass

Share

As a longtime baseball fan, I am saddened that three former Dodgers were not even close to being inducted into the Hall of Fame by the revamped committee.

Gil Hodges is the 1950s equal of Rafael Palmeiro, Tony Perez and Orlando Cepeda.

Maury Wills followed Jackie Robinson’s lead in making steals a powerful weapon again.

Walter O’Malley created thousands of jobs in this country by making major league baseball a true national game. Where would the game be if O’Malley hadn’t come out West?

Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised, with Joe Morgan (Mr. Anti-Dodger) as a vocal member of the committee.

Gil Hodges and Roger Maris are not in the Hall of Fame, but Gary Carter is. What’s wrong with this picture?
