UC Suspends Summer Sessions in Beijing
The University of California has decided to extend the suspension of its academic programs in Beijing through the summer because of concern over severe acute respiratory syndrome, officials said Friday.
Last month, UC halted its spring semester programs in the Chinese capital and urged students to return home. No UC student has been diagnosed with the illness, known as SARS.
About 130 students are affected by the summer program decision, officials said. An alternative program will be offered for them at Princeton University.
