Ex-Priest’s Arraignment Delayed Until June 9
Monday’s scheduled arraignment of a former Roman Catholic priest accused of impregnating a Villa Park teenager and paying for her abortion more than 20 years ago has been postponed until June 9.
John Lenihan, 57, is charged with 10 counts of felony sexual assault on a minor. The defense is seeking to have the charges thrown out by arguing that California’s recently extended statute of limitations on molestation cases is unconstitutional.
That request will be made at the June 9 hearing, at which time Lenihan will also enter his plea.
