Orson Welles Oscar for sale

Christie’s, the international auction house, has announced that on July 25 it will auction the best original screenplay Academy Award won by Orson Welles in 1941 for “Citizen Kane.” Christie’s estimates that the Oscar is worth $300,000 to $400,000.

The same auction will also offer never-before-seen film of John Lennon in New York City (estimated at $45,000 to $50,000); Lennon’s handwritten lyrics to the Beatles’ song “If You’ve Got Trouble,” estimated at $30,000 to $35,000; and Bruce Springsteen’s 1967 Gibson Les Paul electric guitar, estimated at $35,000 to $40,000.
