SUV Driver Sought in Hit-and-Run Accident

Police are seeking the driver of a sport utility vehicle who fled Saturday night after hitting a 42-year-old pedestrian, leaving him in critical condition.
The pedestrian was crossing North Coast Highway at Viejo Street about 9:45 p.m. in a marked crosswalk when a northbound vehicle hit him, said Sgt. Bob Rahaeuser. The man was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
Police believe the vehicle sustained left front-end damage.
