‘Drama Hour’ was an escape from the news
KNX-AM (1070), apparently reflecting the misguided wisdom of new management, has decided to junk what it has called “radio’s golden years” for a full 24/7 serving of news, news and nothing but more news (“ ‘Drama Hour’ Bows Out,” by Steve Carney, Nov. 3).
At least with “The Drama Hour,” after we’d had our full daily overdose of the horrors of the day, we were offered a brief, one-hour escape into simpler times.
KNX says, hey, we can still get “The Drama Hour,” or its equivalent, on the Internet. But I don’t use my computer when I’m driving, and I certainly don’t take it to bed with me.
