Angels Name Kuhl President

Angel owner Arte Moreno hired one of his longtime advertising industry associates as club president Monday, the latest indication that Moreno intends to market the team well beyond the borders of Orange County.

Dennis Kuhl, the new president, joins the Angels after eight years as executive vice president at Viacom Outdoor. Moreno sold the company, then known as Outdoor Systems, to Infinity/CBS in 1999.

Neither Moreno nor Kuhl was available for comment. In a statement, Moreno said Kuhl’s three decades as a sales and advertising executive would “position us to continue to grow in the greater Los Angeles market.”

Moreno believes he can turn the Angels into a national presence and large-revenue powerhouse without significant hikes in ticket prices.
