A Huntington Beach woman and two children, one a toddler, were critically injured Tuesday when they were hit by a car while crossing the street.
An Le was crossing Slater Avenue near Geraldine Lane in a marked crosswalk with 18-month-old Katie Lam -- who was in a stroller -- and Jimmy Pham, 10, when they were hit by a red Dodge pickup about 5:20 p.m.
All three were taken to local hospitals, where they were reported to be undergoing surgery late Tuesday for what police termed “major traumatic and internal injuries.”
It was unclear whether Le is the mother of the two children.
The driver of the pickup -- identified only as a woman -- was cooperating with the investigation, said Sgt. Mike Kelly, a spokesman for the Huntington Beach Police Department. He said no arrests had been made.
