Wildfires’ tragedy painted in words
“THEY Were in the Middle of Telling Life’s Stories” (“The Eye,” Oct. 30) by Barbara King was a beautiful column. Very sad, but beautiful. I am a resident of a dry rural area in the Tehachapi Mountains and have had a couple of close brushes with wildfires. This situation breaks my heart, and the article nearly brought tears to my eyes. As a wife and mom with three youngsters under 13, I can imagine it all, and it would be tragic. The article put it into print in front of me. The television is continually putting it into pictures before me these days.
