The Broadway production of the solo show “Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All,” starring Ellen Burstyn as the 99-year-old title character, has closed after only one official performance and a round of negative reviews.
The adaptation of Allan Gurganus’ novel opened at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego in February. It played 19 previews on Broadway before opening on Monday.
