Central Michigan Player Dies From Car-Crash Injuries
Central Michigan player Brent Edwards died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, the university said Wednesday.
Edwards died Tuesday, a day after the crash about 30 miles west of Saginaw. The team was informed of Edwards’ death while participating in the Maui Invitational in Lahaina, Hawaii. The Broncos lost to Santa Clara, 76-62, in the fifth-place game.
The 21-year-old junior guard from Flushing was a walk-on to the team and one of a few players who did not travel to the tournament.

Jim Harrick Sr. and Jim Harrick Jr. have made a legal move that could be the first step toward suing Georgia, their former employer.
The Athens Banner-Herald reported that Robert Tanenbaum, an attorney representing the Harricks, has requested a “name-clearing” hearing for the men. Tanenbaum called the move a step in a libel lawsuit against the school.
The Harricks were fired after allegations surfaced of players being paid and receiving unauthorized academic help.
