Allison Takes a Little Break

Share

Center Jason Allison, out since January because of whiplash, took a few days off from skating because he felt he had over-exerted himself.

Allison had been participating in non-contact workouts with a small group of other injured players when his vision “became a little off” and he “felt a little pressure” in his head.

“I was feeling so good,” he said. “Then, two days in a row I went 100%. The next few I wasn’t so good. I overdid it.”

There is still no timetable for his return, but Allison said he feels better than he did three or four weeks ago. He credits medication he is taking for a recent diagnosis of post-traumatic migraine symptoms.

“Just my mood, my demeanor, it’s been much better,” he said. “I feel much more like myself. I really feel like I’m getting close. Whether it’s three weeks or two months, who knows?”
