Vote of Confidence for County Registrar

Share

I recently moved and attempted to change my voting address through my Department of Motor Vehicles registration. Since I did not receive any voter information, I realized that the DMV system did not work. So I called the county registrar of voters; I found the number in the phone book. It took only one call and one telephone ring to get a real, live person. I did not get a machine with lots of instructions and was not transferred several times. I was amazed.

This lovely woman looked up my name and verified that the change of address had not gone through, and she changed it on the spot. She also gave me the address of my new polling place and told me I would need identification for my new address to vote. That was it. The call took less than five minutes and was so easy, I am still in shock. In this world of high tech, sometimes there are wonderful surprises involving human contact.
