For some bettors, the $500,000 Goodwood Breeders’ Cup Handicap will be the conclusion to one pick six and the start of another.

The Grade II, considered a prep for the Breeders’ Cup Classic in three weeks, is the final leg of a national pick six that will feature another stakes from Santa Anita -- the $150,000 Oak Tree Derby -- and two each from Keeneland and Belmont Park.

The Goodwood is also the first race in the local pick six on a card that won’t be included among the finest in Oak Tree history.

Besides the races in Arcadia, the four stakes in the national pick six are the $400,000 Lane’s End Breeders’ Futurity and the $600,000 Shadwell Turf Mile from Keeneland and the $350,000 Kelso Breeders’ Cup Handicap and $750,000 Beldame from Belmont Park.

The most logical single for most players in the wager will be Sightseek, who is trained by Bobby Frankel and will be favored in the Beldame.

Frankel will also try to win the Kelso, which is a Grade II at a mile, with Decarchy.

Race of the day: Lady Annaliese, from New Zealand, will make her U.S. debut for Frankel in today’s eighth, a $49,000 optional claimer at 1 1/8 miles on the turf, at Santa Anita.

One for the road: Victory U.S.A. will appreciate getting away from Halfbridled and she can win her first stakes for trainer Bob Baffert in today’s $500,000 Frizette at Belmont Park.

Exotically speaking: A pick three using But Of Course and I.R. Wood in the sixth, Rousing Again and Ellena in the seventh and Silver Yen and Lady Annaliese in the eighth.

Winners: Previous day/meet total: 1/13. Money: Previous day/meet total: $4.60/$55.40. Total money bet: $68.
