Faulty Forecast

Wow! No less than the comptroller general of the United States, David M. Walker, declared as “flat false” President Bush’s forecast that economic growth spurred by tax cuts would shrink the federal government’s annual deficits (Oct. 7). But where does this very newsworthy indictment of Bush’s ongoing policy of deceit appear in the newspaper? If you’d searched you’d have found it on the very bottom of Page A21.

In submerging this important negative news about the Bush administration, is The Times attempting to overcome its “liberal” label as applied by the Arnold Schwarzenegger crowd?
