Check-Cashing Business in Oxnard Robbed
An armed robber handcuffed two employees of an Oxnard check-cashing business Sunday and stole an undisclosed amount of money, authorities said.
The robbery occurred about 9:30 a.m. at Dollarsmart in the 1400 block of Doris Avenue, Oxnard police said. No one was injured.
Authorities believe the robber may have broken in through the roof late Saturday or early Sunday and waited for the employees to arrive.
Officers responded after receiving a call from a customer who said the business was open but no employees were around. The employees were found inside a room where the safe was located.
Authorities declined to release further details except to say there may have been two robbers.
