Store Clerk, 50, Killed in Heist in South L.A.
A clerk at a discount store in the 4400 block of Avalon Boulevard in south Los Angeles was shot and killed during a robbery Tuesday night, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The 50-year-old victim was held up at gunpoint shortly after 8 p.m. by two men who made off with an undetermined sum of money, said LAPD spokesperson Adriana Sanchez.
The clerk was found wounded behind a counter and taken to a local hospital where he later died, police said. His identity was not released.
Police said the robbers ran from the store and remained at large.
