A Westlake Village woman has been sentenced to five years in prison for stealing more than $480,000 from her employer.

Julie D. Trimble, 44, embezzled the money while working as a bookkeeper for Westcord Commercial Real Estate Services, a real estate management company in Westlake Village, from 1994 to 1999.

Using Westcord checks, Trimble made unauthorized payments to herself and her ex-husband, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Howard Wise. She also used Westcord’s funds to pay off personal debts.

Trimble’s bail was revoked earlier this month after prosecutors alleged that she falsified a doctor’s letter in an attempt to delay her sentencing, Wise said. Superior Court Judge Bruce Clark sentenced her last week to five years in prison and ordered her to pay full restitution.

Trimble is also facing grand theft charges in two unrelated cases in Los Angeles, Wise said.
