Mississippi State’s Sherrill to Call It Quits

Mississippi State Coach Jackie Sherrill, 59, will retire at the end of the season, ending speculation about the future of the school’s winningest coach.

The Bulldogs are 2-4 entering today’s game at Auburn and are coming off two consecutive three-win seasons.

Tennessee Coach Phillip Fulmer denied a claim by attorney John Gallion that Fulmer arranged a $50,000 line of credit for former Volunteer defensive tackle John Henderson before his senior season.
