Kobe Bryant Case Goes to Next Level

Kobe’s attorney may have indeed smeared the alleged victim. However, the alleged victim has already smeared Kobe. The question is, who is the victim and who is the perpetrator? We now have sex and lies. Too bad there is no videotape.

The Kobe Bryant situation is truly a distraction to the Lakers. Gary Payton and Karl Malone came to the Lakers with one purpose, that being to win a championship. It appears Bryant has put up quite an obstacle toward that goal.

A code of conduct needs to be established in pro sports. Bryant needs to be apart from the Lakers until his personal life no longer interferes with the good of the team. I believe, in the long run, that even without Bryant the Lakers have a tremendous chance to win a championship. With the distractions from Bryant, I fear they have no chance.

In response to Bill Plaschke’s article, “There’s No Way to Shrug Off Details” [Oct. 10]: His opinion that Kobe should not play is ridiculous. It is understandable that he might not be ready to play today, but the season does not start today.

If you are suggesting that he should not play because of his pending trial, he has not been convicted of anything. I am not condoning the act of cheating on one’s wife. However, if all players who cheat on their wives could not play for the season, there would be no NBA.
