Vehicle Hits, Kills Man on Freeway
An Anaheim man died and another person was injured when they left their car following a multi-vehicle accident Sunday morning on the Santa Ana Freeway in Orange, authorities said.
Kamel M. Bougherara, 25, was struck and killed when he and a passenger in his car went to the aid of another victim, a coroner’s spokesman said. Apparently, Bougherara’s car was also involved in the multi-vehicle collision in the southbound lanes south of the Chapman Avenue offramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
It is unknown if the vehicle that struck Bougherara also struck his passenger. Authorities did not release any information about the passenger, who was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange and remained in unknown condition.
