If my county is still using Florida-style punch-card voting machines for the recall election, can I vote in a county that uses more modern voting equipment?

*

No. Voters must cast their ballots in the county where they are registered. Voters can cast absentee ballots if they wish. In Los Angeles County, people who do not want to use punch cards can cast their votes using touch-screen machines at 12 early voting locations around the county from Sept. 24 through Oct. 3. A list of locations is available at www.lavote.net.

Voters using punch-card machines in the polling places, or absentee ballots, are encouraged to check their ballot cards to make sure the punches fully go through. Los Angeles, San Diego and Sacramento are among the counties that will use old-style punch cards for the recall election.
