Toledo Stops Marshall, 24-17

Bruce Gradkowski threw two touchdown passes and Astin Martin scored on a 10-yard run with 1:10 to play Friday night to give Toledo a 24-17 victory over Marshall in a Mid-American Conference opener at Huntington, W.Va.

Toledo (2-1) defeated Marshall (1-2) for the third time in four years and ended the nation’s third-longest home winning streak at 17. Miami is first at 23 games and Texas is second at 20.

Montana State assistant Joe O’Brien was arrested in Townsend, Mont., and charged with one count of possessing methamphetamine and one count of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute, both felonies, the Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported. He has been suspended by the school with pay.... Fotoya Hudson, 32, was charged with stalking, harassment and trespassing in a series of incidents involving Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel. She pleaded innocent and remained in the Franklin County jail in Ohio on $105,000 bond.... Former Oklahoma running back Billy Sims, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1978, was arrested late Thursday on a child support warrant in Anadarko, Okla. He was released after paying $9,073 in back support.
