Sarah Fisher, who will be racing in today’s Indy Racing League Toyota Indy 400 at the California Speedway in Fontana, is the only female driver on the IRL circuit.

So how does she get along with her male counterparts?

“Just like the male drivers, I get along with some and don’t get along with others,” she said. “It’s not the friendship league. If you’re looking for friends, join a bowling league.”

Trivia time: Which driver established the fastest qualifying speed at the Indianapolis 500, and what was his speed?

Dating game: The “Best Damn Sports Show” has a contest where someone can win a date with Kansas City Chief and former USC receiver Johnnie Morton. And the TVG network has a “Date With Dergan” promotion where someone can go to the Breeders’ Cup on Oct. 25 at Santa Anita with Fox Sports Net reporter Lisa Dergan.

From this vantage point, the date with Dergan sounds like the better prize.

Tough job: It was noted in Morning Briefing that the Arizona Cardinals drew only an announced 23,127 for their home opener Sunday. Steve Rom of the Arizona Daily Sun said the crowd appeared to be more like 17,000.

Said Dan Bickley of the Arizona Republic: “If you think you have it tough, imagine being a peanut salesman when the Bengals come to town.”

Light humor: Another Morning Briefing item had a line suggesting Kelli White marry J.T. Snow and become Snow-White.

Jon Light of Oxnard, author of the “Cultural Encyclopedia of Baseball,” says that when he and Angela Rain were wed in 1983, the late Jack Smith wrote in The Times: “With the Light-Rain nuptials, of course there will be showers.”

Near fisticuffs: Some of the best action the night of Shane Mosley’s victory over Oscar De La Hoya took place in the media room after the fight.

An argument over who won the fight broke out between publicist Bill Caplan and a boxing writer. It became so heated that the two had to be separated.

“It took Jim Hill, a former NFL player, to pull back” the writer, Caplan said. “My 115-pound daughter [Debbie] was able to pull me back.”

Caplan and the scribe, longtime friends, soon made up.

Low blow: Regarding De La Hoya’s threatening an investigation into the judging, ESPN the Magazine quotes him as saying, “I’m not doing this because I’m a sore loser, I’m doing this for the sport of boxing.” Adds the magazine: “More proof that Mosley knocked him silly.”

Another low blow: Heard this one? What do you call Jim Lampley, Larry Merchant, George Foreman and De La Hoya? “Three Men and a Baby.”

Trivia answer: Arie Luyendyk at 236.986 mph in 1996.

And finally: New York Met reliever David Weathers, asked how he pitches to Barry Bonds, told the Newark (N.J.) Star-Ledger: “Chuck and duck. I only want single guys playing behind me. I don’t want anyone losing a husband or a father.”
