Woman Is Abducted in Oxnard and Raped
A woman awaiting a ride outside an Oxnard restaurant was forced into a car by a man who drove her to Ventura and raped her, authorities said Sunday.
The incident occurred about 2 a.m. Saturday outside Leonardo’s Restaurant in the 2600 block of Wagon Wheel Road, Oxnard police said. No details were released except that the woman was seen by doctors at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura.
Authorities do not believe the assault was related to another attack in Oxnard on Friday night. In that case, a woman was taken at gunpoint from a car at Kiddie Beach and raped in a bathroom before being driven to Port Hueneme and raped again. The description of the suspects differed in the two cases, authorities said.
There had been no arrests in either case as of late Sunday.
