Swimming Barred After Fishermen Spot Shark
From Staff and Wire Reports
Beaches will be closed to swimming until Friday, after a great white shark was spotted offshore in a region still jittery after the Aug. 19 death of a distance swimmer who was attacked by a great white shark.
Fishermen in a boat less than a mile offshore saw the great white shark attack a seal Saturday, said Greg Weisberg, marine safety officer at the Port San Luis Harbor District. The district’s three beaches will be closed to swimming.
