A Tarzana man was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on charges of concealing about $400,000 in assets during a $20-million bankruptcy proceeding.

Charly Sion Hagege, 57, was charged with making false statements to the bankruptcy court, concealing assets and using false Social Security numbers to open bank accounts in which he allegedly deposited money after filing for bankruptcy protection.

The money was deposited into accounts in Luxembourg, Israel and Florida, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
