BASEBALL

* Brandon Laird and Adam Jorgenson, Westminster La Quinta: Laird pitched a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts and no walks, and had three hits and four RBIs in a 7-0 victory over visiting Alhambra in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader at Blair Field in Long Beach. Jorgenson threw a two-hitter with 17 strikeouts in a 7-0 victory in the second game for the No. 13 Aztecs, who extended their unbeaten streak to 27 games.

SOFTBALL

* Robyn Kontra, Newhall Hart: Threw a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks, and Jen Whitcomb scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a throwing error in a 1-0 upset of visiting No. 10-ranked Valencia, which lost to the Indians for the first time in seven meetings.

* Heather Slettvet and Lisa Geer, Anaheim Canyon: Slettvet had two triples and one run batted in, and Geer pitched a two-hitter, striking out 10, for the No. 11 Comanches in a 1-0 Century League victory at No. 16 Placentia El Dorado.

TRACK AND FIELD

* Vanessa Gardner, Mission Viejo: Won the triple jump at 34 feet 3 3/4, the shotput at 35-3 1/4, the discus at 123-9 and was part of the winning 4x100 relay team that finished in 50.9 for the unbeaten Diablos in a 111-11 South Coast League victory over visiting San Clemente.
