Man Who Killed Jeweler Gets 32 Years to Life

Jad Issa Salem, who pleaded guilty last year to the 1999 fatal stabbing of a San Bernardino jeweler, was sentenced Friday to 32 years and eight months to life in prison by a San Bernardino County Superior Court judge.
Marshall Adams, 74, a jeweler and retired teacher, was stabbed several times by Salem and a washrag was stuffed into his throat. Several gems were missing from his store, Marshall Adams’ Gems.
Salem was arrested in 2001 after fingerprints taken from the scene matched his in a Texas police database.
