Reed Named General Counsel for L.A. Unified

Kevin S. Reed, who has filled in as general counsel for the Los Angeles Unified School District since officials fired their top lawyer 10 months ago, was appointed to the post on Monday.
Reed, 40, an education law expert, will resign from the firm of Strumwasser and Woocher. His salary will be $228,000 a year.
Reed’s predecessor, Harold J. Kwalwasser, was dismissed last June.
