Mike Lieberthal gave Philadelphia’s offense the lift it needed and the Phillies a first victory to remember at their new ballpark.

Lieberthal hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning at Citizens Bank Park, rallying the Phillies over the Cincinnati Reds, 6-4, on Thursday to end their five-game losing streak.

“It was nice to see us get some runs, even though it was late,” Manager Larry Bowa said.

Florida 3, Montreal 0 -- Carl Pavano, Chad Fox and Armando Benitez combined at San Juan, Puerto Rico, to extend the Marlins’ shutout streak to a team-record 30 innings. Montreal was held to three hits as its scoreless string reached a club-record 33 innings.
