County Reward Urged in Slaying of Restaurateur

Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke said Friday that she will ask the Board of Supervisors to offer a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for the fatal shooting of a popular restaurateur.
Ventress McCallum, 54, owner of McCallum’s M&M; Soul Food Restaurant chain, was slain Wednesday night outside his Ladera Heights home. Police said an undisclosed amount of money was taken during the attack.
