Ted Lilly pitched a two-hitter, giving Toronto’s struggling starters a boost and leading the Blue Jays to a 6-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Monday night at Minneapolis.

Orlando Hudson had three hits, including two of Toronto’s six doubles, and Josh Phelps hit a two-run double in the sixth inning.

Lilly (1-2) struck out eight and walked two. The left-hander became the first Blue Jay starting pitcher to win this year other than Roy Halladay.

Michael Cuddyer spoiled Lilly’s shutout bid on the first pitch of the sixth inning with his first home run this season.

Cristian Guzman’s bloop single to right field in the first was the only other Minnesota hit.

Lilly, making the 100th start of his career, went to Toronto in a trade for outfielder Bobby Kielty after spending last season with the Oakland Athletics.

Greg Myers, the only Blue Jay batter without a hit, injured his left ankle rounding third base on Hudson’s hit in the eighth and left the field on a cart.

No further details about the catcher were immediately available.

Brad Radke (2-2) gave up 10 hits and four runs in seven innings, striking out three without a walk.

Seattle at Baltimore, ppd. -- The game was postponed because of rain and will be made up Aug. 3 as part of a day-night doubleheader.
