O.C. Teacher Is Held in Injury Crash
A suspected drunk driver was arrested after she struck and injured a bicyclist on Magnolia Street in Fountain Valley, police said.
Joan Prijatel, 57, a teacher from Huntington Beach, was booked into Orange County Jail late Wednesday on a felony count of driving under the influence and causing injuries, Fountain Valley Police Sgt. Kevin Thomas said.
Police said Prijatel’s car struck Nathaniel Orijel, 21, of Huntington Beach as he was riding south in the bike lane about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday. He suffered a broken leg and internal injuries, authorities said.
