Mayor, Four Guards Killed in Ambush

Gunmen killed a mayor and four of his bodyguards in an ambush in southern Afghanistan.
Mayor Thawos Khan died when assailants opened fire on his pickup in Khana Shien district of Helmand province, said Mohammed Wali, a spokesman for the provincial governor.
Meanwhile, two rockets exploded overnight in a building in the capital, Kabul, in what NATO troops said was an attempt to lure police and troops into a trap. And in central Oruzgan province, a mine injured three election workers Friday.
