Boulevard of smokin’ dreams

Hollywood power brokers Lonnie Moore and Mike Boogie (Dolce/Belly) have teamed up with Concorde’s Shereen Arazm for the upcoming Geisha House, which we hear is going to be quite fabulous. Located at the old Studio Cafe at the corner of Cherokee and Hollywood Boulevard, Geisha House will be a high-end Japanese spot. I’m told they’re bringing in the GM from New York’s famed Nobu. And surely it doesn’t hurt that Ashton Kutcher, Wilmer Valderrama, Laura Prepon, Danny and Chris Masterson and Sean Astin are investors.... More goings-on from down the boulevard: The folks behind the Melrose Avenue hot spot Table 8 have paired up with the owners of Miami’s Rock Bar to debut an L.A. Rock Bar. We’re told they took over the former Deluxe bar on Hollywood Boulevard at Las Palmas and are busy transforming it. Word on the street is that Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson are backing the project.... Rockers Ricky Vodka (Motochrist) and Eden Fonzarelli (the Killdevils) have teamed up for the launch of “I’m Bored,” a new Saturday-night promotion at Three Clubs in Hollywood. Both Vodka and Fonzarelli, who DJ at the Burgundy Room on Mondays, take turns at the turntable.... And Vodka’s taking his Thunderpussy nightclub from King King and moving it to Dragonfly on Wednesday nights, which for years was home to the Pretty Ugly Club. Thunderpussy makes its debut at Dragonfly on Aug. 18 with a live performance by the Chelsea Smiles.... According to street sources, Paris Hilton had quite a dust-up with ex-boyfriend Nick Carter after leaving the Concorde club in Hollywood last week. Poor Nick....

Go out cold? They’re no idiots

Green Day’s last-minute show at the Olympic Auditorium last Thursday sold out in five minutes. Billie Joe Armstrong and bandmates gave material from their upcoming album, “American Idiot,” a test drive before their world tour. Highlights: a new 9-minute punk opera, “Jesus of Suburbia;” fans summoned onstage to play songs on the band’s instruments; and a cameo by the Go-Go’s Jane Wiedlin, who joined the band onstage for a thrashy rendition of “Our Lips Are Sealed.” Mixing at the after-party at Zen Sushi were Benji and Joel Madden from Good Charlotte, No Doubt’s Tony Kanal and Cheech Marin.... We hear the Velvet Margarita is turning heads in Hollywood. Owned by DJ Big Daddy Carlos, the new Tijuana-inspired restaurant on Cahuenga is now open for business and entertaining scenesters nightly.... So we’ve been hearing excellent word-of-mouth on the Bar, an under-the-radar spot at Sunset Boulevard and Bronson Avenue in H-town. Such hotties as Gwen Stefani, Spike Jonze and Heath Ledger have breezed into the low-key saloon.... . And we hear Ledger threw a party for a pal there last week and even took turns DJing....

A bunch of kids hanging out at the Block at Orange on Friday night were treated to a private TSOL performance at Ron Jon’s Surf Shop. The veteran punk group was invited by O’Neill Surf Co. to play at a bash for industry buyers and brokers but because the retail spot had room for more viewers, they let in dozens of kids.

Look for the union label

Now here’s a new twist. Promoters behind a very fun Saturday-night R&B; dance club at Platinum Live in Studio City are offering free admission to card-carrying union members. You figure, with all the starving actors and writers living in the Valley, they can surely use the break....Just when you thought you couldn’t have your cake and eat too, the Garden of Eden debuts a creamy new dance club called Vanilla Saturdays. Sweet.
