Officers Shoot, Kill Slaying Suspect
Authorities opened fire outside a strip mall Thursday, killing a 25-year-old parolee and wounding a patient in a nearby dentist’s office.
Gunfire erupted around 11 a.m. as officers closed in on a murder suspect in the San Diego suburb of Chula Vista. The suspect jumped into his Jeep Cherokee and drove toward officers, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
At least four officers fired their weapons.
The suspect, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Stray gunfire pierced the wall of a dentist’s office and struck Paula Brown, 43.
