Going for the Bronze

Share

In Southern California, the tan is still king, but the tanning booth is beating out the sand dune now that a paltry few miles to the beach can add up to a lot of freeway time. Many a pseudo sun worshipper hangs out at emporiums such as Portofino Sun Spa in Beverly Hills, where the menu of services features everything from a 20-minute face tan for $16 to a $75 customized, head-to-toe spray tan purported to last between eight and 10 days. We stopped by on a recent Saturday for some local color.
