Three Killed When Bus Plunges Off Turnpike
From Times Wire Reports
A church bus filled with teenagers was run off the Florida Turnpike near Boca Raton by a Ford Explorer that had a tire blow out, police said. The bus plunged into a canal, killing three youths.
The bus was submerged in about 16 feet of water, Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Roger Reyes said. About 20 passengers on the bus were taken to hospitals.
A Broward County Sheriff’s deputy and passersby jumped into the canal to pull people out immediately after the accident, Reyes said.
