The Defense Department last week also identified the following American military personnel killed in Afghanistan and Iraq:

Bobby E. Beasley, 36, of Inwood, W.Va.; sergeant, Army National Guard. Beasley died Aug. 7 in Ghazikel, Afghanistan, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 29th Infantry Division (Light Infantry) in Winchester, Va.

Joshua I. Bunch, 23, of Hattiesburg, Miss.; specialist, Army. Bunch died Aug. 6 in Baghdad when insurgents using small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades attacked his vehicle. He was assigned to 91st Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Craig W. Cherry, 39, of Winchester, Va.; staff sergeant, Army National Guard. Cherry died Aug. 7 in Ghazikel, Afghanistan, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 29th Infantry Division (Light Infantry) in Winchester, Va.

Jonathan W. Collins, 19, of Crystal Lake, Ill.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Collins died Aug. 8 due to enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Raymond J. Faulstich Jr., 24, of Leonardtown, Md.; private first class, Army. Faulstich died Aug. 5 in Najaf, Iraq, when insurgents using small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades attacked his convoy. He was assigned to 89th Transportation Company, 6th Transportation Battalion, 7th Transportation Group at Ft. Eustis, Va.

Kane M. Funke, 20, of Vancouver, Wash.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Funke died Friday as a result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Daniel Lee Galvan, 30, of Moore, Okla.; sergeant, Army. Galvan died Thursday in Salerno, Afghanistan, when the helicopter he was in developed mechanical difficulties and crashed. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion (Assault), 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Light Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Andrew R. Houghton, 25, of Houston, Texas; captain, Army. Houghton died Monday at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., of injuries sustained July 10 in Ad Dhuha, Iraq, when a rocket-propelled grenade detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry, 1st Infantry Division in Schweinfurt, Germany.

David L. Potter, 22, of Johnson City, Tenn.; private first class, Army. Potter died Aug. 7 in Baghdad of non-combat-related injuries. He was assigned to 115th Forward Support Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Yadir G. Reynoso, 27, of Wapato, Wash.; sergeant, Marine Corps. Reynoso died Aug. 5 due to enemy action in Najaf Province, Iraq. He was assigned to Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Michael Yury Tarlavsky, 30, of Passaic, N.J.; captain, Army. Tarlavsky died Thursday in Najaf, Iraq, when his unit came under small-arms fire and grenade attack. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group at Ft. Campbell, Ky.
