Re “Parishes Split Off Over Gay Issues,” Aug. 18: Why are people shocked at the Episcopalian Church schism? When the elite of the church decided to ignore the Bible’s multiple condemnations of homosexuality, it chose worldly popularity over eternal truth.
People have not left the church; it left them.
