Replacing senior point guard Loree Moore weighed on freshman Alexis Hornbuckle in her first start for No. 9-ranked Tennessee.

She acknowledged being nervous as the Lady Vols rallied from 15 points down to beat No. 15 DePaul, 78-63, Sunday at Knoxville, Tenn. Tennessee didn’t take its first lead until 11:20 was left.

“Alexis started the game on her heels and finished the game on her toes,” Tennessee Coach Pat Summitt said. “I thought she was able to turn it around in the course of the game. A lot of times in my career I’ve had players that couldn’t do that. They had to wait until the next time to play.”

Hornbuckle will get plenty of chances. Moore, whose tonsils were removed Friday, could be out for a month. DePaul (6-2), which twice tied the score after Tennessee took its first lead, was down by five with 2:35 left when the Lady Vols pulled away with a 9-0 run.

No. 2 Stanford 80, San Francisco 51 -- Freshman Candice Wiggins had 22 points and four steals to lead the Cardinal (7-0) at San Francisco. The Dons (5-4) are coached by Heidi VanDerveer, a former WNBA coach who is the sister of Stanford Coach Tara VanDerveer. “It’s never easy playing friends or family,” the Cardinal coach said. “You always end up feeling worse for them than feeling good for yourself.”

No. 11 Georgia 70, No. 24 Arizona 62 -- Center Shawntinice Polk fouled out for the Wildcats (6-2) with nearly 12 minutes left in their loss to the Bulldogs (7-3) at Athens, Ga.
