Man Arrested in Drive-By Shooting of 5-Year-Old Girl
A West Covina man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of firing the shot that killed a 5-year-old girl in her home.
Police arrested Alex Guerrero, 25, several hours after Larissa Ware was killed in the 1700 block of West Nolandale Street.
A man in a white Subaru had fired at the house at 10:11 p.m. Tuesday, made a U-turn and continued to shoot, witnesses told police.
Larissa was inside with her parents and twin sisters. She was struck in the chest and died early Wednesday.
Guerrero was found in a car that matched a description of the Subaru. Police did not say where.
Officers found a handgun and ammunition in his car, police said.
Authorities have not offered a motive for the attack.
Guerrero is scheduled to be arraigned today.
