Eric Clapton announces Cream reunion

The long-rumored reunion of ‘60s rock band Cream is still not official, but it sounds like a done deal after guitarist Eric Clapton discussed the project during a BBC Radio 2 interview last week.

According to the Clapton fan club website, the musician said that he, drummer Ginger Baker and singer-bassist Jack Bruce would perform four shows in May at London’s Royal Albert Hall, where they played their last concert in 1968. Their only subsequent performance was a three-song set during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 1993.

Clapton’s representatives would not confirm the reunion, and Royal Albert Hall has not listed the shows. Clapton told the BBC that tickets will go on sale soon.
