Team Remains Low-Key

The Mighty Ducks have won consecutive games. They are within single digits of a playoff spot, nine points. They have one of the hottest power plays in the NHL.

And no one around the dressing room is getting too worked up about any of that.

The Ducks have good reason to be low-key. This is the sixth time this season they have won consecutive games. Only once have they extended that winning streak to three games.

A big reason why the Ducks have been unable to string victories togetherhas been their performance on the road. They have a 6-16-2-4 road record and have won three of their last 23 road games.

“You have to win on the road,” Coach Mike Babcock said. “You have to go somewhere else, where they get the matchups, and you have to find a way to deal with that to win. That’s when I’ll tell you we’re getting there.”

Forward Petr Schastlivy, acquired from Ottawa on Feb. 4, will make his Duck debut tonight. Babcock had some rather specific expectations.

“I expect him to play on the top two lines and score some goals,” Babcock said.

Update -- Goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff returned to the Flame lineup this week after sitting out nearly two months because of a knee injury. He has allowed two or fewer goals in 16 of his 17 starts.
