The Sacramento Kings activated Chris Webber from the injured list Monday, but the star forward reportedly will have to serve an NBA suspension. The NBA has not released details.

Webber, a five-time All-Star, hasn’t played since tearing cartilage in his left knee during the second round of last season’s playoffs. He had extensive off-season surgery.

Webber faces a suspension after pleading guilty in July to charges of lying to a grand jury about his relationship with Ed Martin, a University of Michigan booster who claimed he lent $616,000 to Webber. The Sacramento Bee also reported that Webber will be suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. The length of the suspension is expected to be at least six games, according to various reports.

Brad Miller, who has fit into Webber’s spot in the Kings’ offense, may sit out after spraining his right foot during Sunday’s All-Star game. Tests on Monday revealed no breaks or tears, but the Kings said there is no timetable for Miller’s return.

Detroit Piston center Zeljko Rebraca was suspended for one game by the NBA for punching Sacramento’s Miller in the head during the Kings’ 96-94 victory Wednesday night. The NBA also fined forward Corliss Williamson $5,000 for committing a flagrant foul against Miller.
