Sonoma County Will Free Some Inmates Early
From Times Wire Reports
Some inmates in Sonoma County jails will be getting out a few days early because of overcrowding.
“We’re full,” said Assistant Sheriff Mike Costa, who runs the jail.
Facing a sharp rise in inmates, the Sheriff’s Department has gone to court for an emergency order to release some inmates five days early.
Costa said the North County Jail had exceeded its capacity of 533 inmates for a brief period in the last month.
