Plush stuff out of town

The owners of the Key Club are unveiling their latest venture Friday night in Nevada. Plush -- named after the Sunset Strip’s VIP lounge -- makes its splashy debut at the JW Marriott Hotel in Summerlin, a cool 10 minutes off the Vegas Strip. Designed by the same team behind the Key Club, Plush features leather walls, patios overlooking streaming waterfalls and gaming, of course.... And speaking of openings, there were fireworks at El Centro’s debut last Thursday. The star-studded affair was shut down due to overcrowding but not before such hotties as Heath Ledger, Mark McGrath, Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey and the Osbourne kids got a chance to check out the new nightclub, which is owned by the folks behind Concorde and Las Palmas.

Down to business

On Saturday, show ‘em what you’re working with at the return of Club Hotpants at Mr. T’s Bowl in Highland Park.... Just when you thought Sundays were for sleepin’, the Lava Lounge cranks up the volume on its Kinky Karaoke -- a night of dirty ditties that’s sure to leave you with a mental hangover.... Check out Austin, Texas, roots rockers Milton Mapes as they breeze through town at the Knitting Factory next Thursday.... Looks as if the Argyle Hotel is getting a makeover. We hear hotelier Jeff Klein dropped a cool 25 mil to buy the Art Deco landmark. With its killer view and star-studded history, should be a sweet investment.... Starting Jan. 27, check out Tuesday nights at the Basement, the VIP lounge of the Pearl nightclub in WeHo. Hosted by Orgy guitarist Amir Dahrak and promoter BoJesse Christopher, the Basement will be thumping with new wave, punk and hip-hop. Yum....

Renewal notice

Meanwhile, on the Eastside, the low-down dirty Echo is in the midst of a fab face-lift. Recently, the Echo Park club’s walls were painted a lovely shade of blue, and by this weekend it should be debuting a brand new smoking patio. In February, the Echo plans to unveil four new Saturday night dance clubs, each with a different theme.
