Not quite ‘All Things Sumo’
I was more than a bit disappointed to see that in “Sumo: Bigger and Bigger” (Jan. 8) nothing about the Southern California Sumo Kyokai (SCSK) was mentioned. I heartily congratulate you and genuinely appreciate your helping the sport gain recognition, but under “All Things Sumo,” there was an alarming gap in what was publicized. I maintain that the SCSK is a vital part of the Southern California amateur sumo scene. We are the oldest club in Southern California and have the only permanent outdoor dohyo in the continental U.S.
